SCEHSC investigators to launch Superfund Research Program Center

USC scientists from the Keck School of Medicine and the Viterbi School of Engineering have received an $8 million NIH grant to launch the ShARP Center, where they will study the health effects of PFAS “forever chemicals” and develop methods to detect and remove them from water. SCEHSC Deputy Director Lida Chatzi, MD, PhD, and Director Rob McConnell, MD, PhD, will lead the ShARP Center as director and deputy director, respectively.

SCEHSC investigators selected in multi-omics consortium

USC has received funding from NIH, as part of a five-year, $50.3 million “multi-omics” study of human health and disease involving six sites. SCEHSC Deputy Director Lida Chatzi, MD, Phd leads the USC Study Site investigating liver disease.
