
Community Action Funds
Grants up to $5,000
The Community Action Fund provides funding to nonprofits and educators across Southern California address environmental health concerns in their communities. Projects can focus on collecting information, analyzing data, community engagement, citizen science, providing education, and/or conducting an evaluation related to a local environmental health issue. Selected proposals will receive up to $5,000. Funding can be used for supplies, venue rentals, staff time, consultants, and more. Funding cannot be used for food or beverages.
While any secondary school educators, nonprofits, and community organizations can collaborate and apply, fund can only be released to 501(c)3 status organizations. Grantees may apply for up to $5,000 and preference may be given to groups whose projects directly align with SCEHSC research. Funding will be on a rolling basis.
Eligibility:
Be a not-for-profit entity
Be a Southern California entity or serve the Southern California area
Propose a project within a 12-month period from the time of the award
