About the Speakers

Max Aung is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Environmental Health at the University of Southern California and a JPB Environmental Health Fellow through Harvard University. He is an alumnus of the Agents of Change in Environmental Justice Fellowship as well as the RWJF Health Policy Research Scholars Fellowship. His current research projects focus on integrating multi-omics biomarkers in diverse prospective cohorts to better understand mechanisms linking the human exposome to maternal health outcomes and child development. In his role as the Assistant Director of the Agents of Change in Environmental Justice Fellowship program, he is also focused on training the next generation of environmental health and justice scholars on science communication and policy translation.

Susan Lamontagne is a media and messaging strategist who has shaped national conversations on some of the most challenging issues of our time. Specializing in public health, health care, children's health, environmental health, and social justice, Susan creates campaigns and generates high-profile media coverage to influence policy change. She has held senior positions on Capitol Hill, in political campaigns, at a national nonprofit, and as a media and marketing consultant. She has successfully helped to expand health coverage and access to health care, protect family planning funding, reduce toxic chemical exposures, stop installation of tox
